PUBLISHING

My experience in publishing includes editorial designs and illustrations for Chronicle Books, William Stout Publishers, and Melcher Media. I have also designed a few magazines such as Dialogue, a trade publication for Gensler; Frameworks, a quarterly journal for UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design grad students; and Design Book Review, an architecture and design journal published by MIT Press.

COMPACT DESIGN PORTFOLIO

For Chronicle Books, I designed a ten book series on modernist designers such as Eva Zeisel, George Nelson, Richard Sapper, Gaetano Pesce, and others where I was able to review a treasure trove of modernists designers’ portfolios, and select which important works to include. Additionally, I researched and wrote captions, and created a design system for the book series.

The books were selected for Print Magazine’s design annual, went into additional printings in Japanese and other languages. The work were also featured in Step-By-Step and Dwell magazines.

InFUSED

For Chronicle Books, I was commissioned to design a cocktail and infused liquor recipe book. To capture the essence of the fun drinks and infused concoctions, I illustrated submerged and suspended fruit, spices, and cocktail accessories in varying hues of transparent bodies of liquids and bubbles.

DIALOGUE

At Gensler, I worked in their Firmwide Communications group which published a tri-quarterly trade magazine, Dialogue. The pubilcation featured projects from Gensler’s impressive portfolio of projects in architecture, airports, education, healthcare, hospitality, interiors, branding, retail, mixed-use, workplace, and urban planning.

FRAMEWORKS

For UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design (CED), I designed a quarterly magazine, Frameworks for CED grad students. The publication covered relevant topics pertaining to architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning such as sustainability, environmental issues, and faculty news.
